WE GO AGAIN!

Welcome to Dolphins 2023/2024 Season

Join us for the new season ahead
We are excited that our swim season will start soon and we are looking forward to seeing our swimmers after the winter break.

We affirm that at Dolphins we remain committed to ensuring that each swimmer is supported and gets every opportunity to progress so that they reach their full potential. We thus look forward to get active again and to re-establish routines so that each swimmer achieves his/her personal goals in the season ahead.

Note that at Dolphins we offer lessons from beginners all the away to competitive swimming. Our main focus is Learn-to-Swim (LTS), instruction and development and our philosophy is that swimming is more than just a physical skill. We believe that we also need to impart values and nurture the holistic development of our swimmers. Like all sport, swimming develops social skills, builds confidence, and forms character of resilience and discipline. These values are the best gifts that we can give our children as well as a life skill that promotes healthy living.

Committed to being more than a swim school, we have since their inception, partnered with Atlantis Swimming Club who will celebrating 25 years in competitive swimming. Over this period our instructors have coached hundreds of swimmers many of whom have gone on to enjoy success at the highest national levels and many have also represented South Africa at international events. We thus wish them well for the years ahead and encourage all our swimmers who have graduated from our programme to continue club swimming.

All our current instructors were swimmers and thus have the experience and expertise to best teach and develop our young athletes. We also ensure that they are registered and that we comply with the regulations of Swim South Africa, including attending regular LTS instructor programmes.

Note that due to the late winter cold we will again phase in our return to swimming. Our older swimmers who are largely in Level 4 (Swordfish), Level 5 (Marlins), Level 6 (Stingrays) and Level 7 (Sharks) will commence with lessons on Monday 14 August 2023. Younger and newly registered swimmers mainly our Level 1 (Tadpoles), Level 2 (Starfish) and Level 3 (Seals) will start their swim season on 1 September 2022.

Details regarding bookings, lesson times, school rules and fees are presented on our website.

Thanks once again to everyone for your ongoing support and commitment to Dolphins Swim School. Know that your effort to get our kids swimming and active is the best investment you can make. Together we can ensure that our children learn to be positive, manage their time, develop self-discipline and establish a culture for healthy living.

Looking forward to another wonderful and meaningful season of swimming.

Yours in Swimming

Dolphins Swim School

About Us

Dolphin’s was established in 1997 to provide valuable life skills and a service to local neighbourhood kids.
Owner and now professional coach Julie has a lifelong passion with swimming. Having been a swimmer who experienced the limits of apartheid on her swimming development, Julie has committed herself to give children born into our new democracy the opportunity to swim, train and compete as equals.
Dolphins is now 25 years in existence and has grown from a backyard start-up to a fully-fledged Learn to Swim School with qualified and registered staff.
As a school, Dolphin’s offers an efficient and progressive Learn-to-Swim programme for children and adults of all ages. Our programmes starts with the very basics of water safety and confidence and develops towards technical stroke development and squad training. A breakdown of the Skills targeted in each of our course levels is available on our website.
Dolphin’s also supports the local Atlantis Swimming Club by preparing athletes for the competitive world of swimming with many of our swimmers having been selected to represent South Africa and many more who compete at national and regional championships annually.
We offer seasonal lessons during the warmer months of August to April in a heated and enclosed facility as well as at the local municipal pool for more senior swimmers.
Dolphins is an established swim school that is registered with Swimming South Africa
